| At Pet Trek, our mission is to help pet owners fulfill their dogs' needs despite busy schedules and long work hours. We have a passion for developing trusting and long-lasting relationships with both the animals and people we work with. You can put your mind at ease knowing your pet will receive individual care and attention from an experienced and loving handler and trainer. |
Pet Trek is owned and operated by Laura Felgenhauer. She has always
had a passion to care for animals of all kinds. She holds a degree in
biology as well as a graduate certificate in zoo and aquarium studies.
Her dream job was to work as a marine mammal trainer, and so her
career started in the care and training of zoological animals. She was
most recently a keeper and trainer at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium
in Tacoma, WA. She also worked with top marine mammal trainers at
the John G. Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, IL. Laura has worked with
animals of all kinds ranging from dolphins, snakes, owls, wild cats,
aardvarks, and porcupines to dogs, cats, fish, rats, and lizards.
Now a resident of Spokane, WA, Laura is focusing on pet care, starting
Pet Trek as a means of offering Spokane's dog owners another outlet to
provide for their beloved canines. Laura is also an assistant dog trainer
for Diamonds in the Ruff, and works at SpokAnimal C.A.R.E shelter,
conducting behavioral assessments on dogs prior to their adoption.
